CuriousMarc Holo Lights

Here are some assembly images for putting together the CuriousMarc Holo Lights Boards from my run. This is just the order in which I assemble the boards and some tricks I use, but falls short on being a tutorial on how to solder.

At this point, I flip the board over to solder the components in place

Fit it in place on the front of the board, making sure you align the flat side of the LED with the markings on the board.. and once again, I hold it in place with masking tape

Now I prep for installing the surface mounted device, the MOSFET, so I use my flux pen to lightly coat the pads on the front of the board

Then I apply a small amount of solder to one of the pads

Remove the MOSFET from the plastic holder and use your tweezers to place it leads down on the front of the board

Align the MOSFET so that the leads line up with the pads and you can reheat the solder you placed down to reflow over one of those leads

Once that one lead is in place, solder the other two, then I like to go back to the first and make sure it is nice, clean joint by adding more solder and reflowing it again

That's all the components for the board, so next I take some isopropyl alcohol and a q-tip and clean the board of all the rosen left from soldering
