The business end

The business end of the R2 rocket. The tube is the main engine mount, which is 29mm diam. The intention is to use an Aerotech G80 motor, which gives about 18 lbs of thrust.

The holes in the foam core are to save weight, but mostly to vent the ejection charge gases from the motor. I can't find a supplier for a G80 motor that has no ejection charge (used for boot gliders), so I'm just deflecting the charge and diffusing it. Hopefully that doesn't cause R2 to explode in mid air...
