How to make panel hinges for a fraction of the cost of JAG hinges. First, you'll need a 'semi' concealed hinge (Thats what its official name is apparently) and a piece of aluminum flashing used for edging wood panels on houses.

Then, bend the aluminum into the following shape, drill a couple of holes in it and screw it onto the hinge, thusly.

Then stick the hinge / hinges onto your panel. I'm using a glue called 'hotstuff' which works really well, and I'll probably glue another styrene sheet over the top of the aluminum for added strength.
