I decided not to permanently attach the Dome Ring to the Dome to make it easier to access all the electronics inside the dome.

I used 2 Draw Latches (McMaster.com part number 6139A27) mounted opposite each other.

Dome3

Latch is mounted on the dome and the strike on the Dome ring.

Dome4

This makes removing the Dome Ring with the Base Plate easier whenever you need to access inside your dome.
